Product description Available for electronic download, Best Service's Tone2 Nemesis is a soft-synth for Mac and Windows platforms supporting VSTi and Audio Units formats. This virtual instrument utilizes both traditional FM synthesis and a proprietary take on FM synthesis called "NeoFM synthesis," which offers a large sonic range without evoking tones that are tinny or overly-metallic. This software comes with 22 combinatorial synthesis types, 1065 preset patches, as well as a host of on-board effects that can be routed in a flexible manner. Should you wish to experiment with resynthesis, Nemesis allows you to import your own wave-shapes, and to apply an additive spectral editor for further tone-mangling. Also included are an arpeggiator and TranceGate. - NeoFM Engine Explained
- Many conventional FM synths use phase modulation (PM) instead of genuine FM synthesis; however, this approach often results in a dull or bell-like sound. True FM synthesis, on the other hand, can suffer from drift and lack of precision. The NeoFM approach, exclusive to Nemesis, combines the advantages of both types of synthesis and none of the drawbacks of either.
