Product description The Transcend JetFlash Vault 100 USB 3.0 Flash Drive provides 16GB of encrypted storage space that you can safely transport with its shock-resistant and waterproof design. The JetFlash Vault connects to Windows and Mac systems via a USB Type-A connector and features USB 3.0 and MLC technologies to enable up to 160 MB/s read speeds and 40 MB/s write speeds. For safeguarding your data, it features AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode, which enciphers texts using two independent keys. - AES-XTS Encryption Mode
- XTS is a block cipher mode of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with stronger encryption capability over CBC and ECB modes. XTS uses two independent keys to encipher texts to offer more security and less predictability. Additionally, each block is individually encrypted, meaning that there's no effect on other blocks when one of them is corrupted.
- FIPS 197 Validation
- The JetFlash Vault 100 is validated by the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) (Validation No. 4142) run by the National Institute of Standards (NIST). FIPS 197 certification looks at the hardware encryption algorithms that do not require any driver or software installation on the host PC to protect sensitive data from unauthorized tampering.
- Setup
- When inserting the JetFlash Vault 100 for the first time, you will be advised to set a strong password and a hint to protect your private, sensitive, personal, or confidential data. For enhanced security, you are given a maximum of 10 incorrect login attempts to unlock your JetFlash Vault 100. If you fail to input the correct password within the limit, you will be asked to format your JetFlash Vault 100.
- Resistance
- The JetFlash Vault 100 is assembled with a durable, rubberized silicone outer casing to become shock resistant. It is also IPX8 rated to offer protection against continuous immersion in water at a depth of more than 3.3' (1m).
