Product description NAB 2019: G-Tech, SanDisk, and WD Show Off Latest Storage Solutions Read More The 240GB JetDrive 825 Thunderbolt External SSD from Transcend takes a PCIe 3.0 x2 M.2 SSD and combines it with an aluminum Thunderbolt enclosure, thus providing a fast and portable storage drive for select Thunderbolt-equipped Apple systems, such as the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Mac mini, and Mac Pro.
The JetDrive 825 provides up to 240GB of storage and also features a 10 Gb/s Thunderbolt interface, 3D NAND flash memory, and is bus powered via Thunderbolt connectivity, meaning that no external power sources are required. Furthermore, the JetDrive can be used not just for storing documents, photos, music, and videos, it also delivers real-time performance for professional tasks, video editing, and 3D graphics with read and write speeds of up to 950 MB/s.
In addition to serving as external storage, the PCIe M.2 SSD can be removed from its external enclosure and installed within select Mac systems. To accomplish this, T5 and P5 screwdrivers are included. If you'd like to upgrade your Mac Pro or Mac mini, additional screwdrivers are required which are not included. Also included are rubber feet and protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty.
