Product description The Truetone VS-XO Premium Overdrive Pedal delivers a cornucopia of tones for guitar and bass including clean boost, subtle crunch, amp-like grand, compressed distortion, and fat, fully saturated sounds. Sporting two independent drive channels, this pedal has simple, tweakable controls that will make you think of it more like a pair of independent pro-level preamps than a stomp box. With two separate inputs and outputs for each circuit, you can utilize Drive 1 and Drive 2 as separate overdrive pedals or rewire the order for a truly flexible design.
Drive 1 offers drive, tone, and volume control and includes three clipping options, as well as three bass setting options. A clean mix knobs allows you to dial just the right amount of the original signal and mix it with the overdrive for parallel-style processing. Drive 2 offers drive, tone, and volume controls and delivers a very open, amp-like tone. The variable bass control knob allows you to round out its very American sounding amp nature. The pedal can be powered via an optional 9V battery or optional power supply. The Truetone VS-XO ships with a black velvet bag. -
- Each channel can be set to either True Bypass mode or buffered, via internal switches. The buffered mode utilizes Truetone’s Pure Tone circuit
- Features the custom designed Forever Footswitch rated for 10 million hits. This interacts with relays having gold-plated contacts
- Limited Lifetime Warranty (even for second or third owners)
- Small, pedal board friendly size, with front mounted jacks. Smaller footprint than two standard-sized pedals
- Comes in a black velvet bag inside the package box
- Overdrive 1:
- Drive
- Tone (high boost / cut)
- Volume knobs
- Clean Mix: Use the Clean Mix knob to go from 100% Clean boost (minimum setting) to 100% Overdrive (max. setting), or anything in between
- Clipping chooses between three different clipping diode voices:
- No diodes (low gain, organic)
- Two LEDs (medium gain, bright)
- Three signal diodes (higher gain, smooth asymmetrical clipping)
- Bass switch chooses between three different bass levels:
- Slight bass cut
- Slight bass boost
- Larger bass boost
- You will find that B sounds almost exactly in the middle of A and C
- Overdrive 2:
- Typical Drive
- Tone (high boost / cut)
- Volume knobs
- Variable Bass: Use the Bass knob to go from bass cut (minimum setting) to bass boost (maximum setting), or anything in between
- The Tone knob is slightly different than a typical overdrive tone control in that it boosts gain slightly as it boosts highs when turned toward maximum
- Internal Buffer On/Off: If you open the pedal, you will see a slide switch for each overdrive which allows you to turn on/off the Pure Tone buffer circuit. We recommend that you leave the first channel buffer on. However, if you want pure True Bypass switching, you can turn both switches off
