Product description u-He Virtual Instruments and Effects Read More dqbcrssr Designed to handle extensive compression and limiting situations, U-He's Presswork is a dynamics processor featuring a variety of different modes, GUIs, saturation possibilities, and presets. The plug-in offers comprehensive controls over its parameters, as well as the ability to assign all its controls to MIDI signals via MIDI learn. Presswerk is available for download and is compatible with most current OS and Windows iterations.
The preset banks are especially useful, as they categorize applications by instrument, utility, and emulation style. Brand names are left out, but series numbers are not. Therefore, if you instantiate an 1167, 4000, or 670 preset, you can expect to know what you're getting ahead of time. Also, a graphic readout towards the left of the GUI lets you examine the knee functionality of each of these emulations and manipulate them at will.
Turning your attention to the controls, you'll notice that this dynamics processor features feed-forward, feed-backward, and interactive "circuits," as well as a channel-link blend. A link button allows you to use the compressor in stereo or dual mono applications, with switches between channel 1 and channel 2 enabling access to each independent lane of compression. You can also cycle between left/right modes or mid/side modes, should you wish to apply alternate dynamics-based stereo techniques to your signal. At the bottom of the GUI, you'll find comprehensive sidechain controls, giving you high-pass/low-pass filtering on your internal input, the ability to key the unit externally, or a blend between external and internal signals. A delay knob is particularly useful for introducing subtle ducking/pumping effects into your compression via sidechain inputs.
These types of variable control options extend to the saturation, attack/release, and mix sections of the plug-in as well. However, should you wish to simplify your processing experience, six GUI presets are available for individual elements of a mix (drums, bus, vocals, etc.). These skins house all the various parameters under a simpler hood, and thus, allow you to get to desired results faster. - Comprehensive Controls
