Product description This kit from B&H includes one Veracity VLS-1P-B Longspan Ethernet converter and one Veracity VLS-1P-C Longspan Ethernet converter, that allows you to lengthen your Ethernet cable runs and supply PoE or PoE Plus power to IP cameras installed beyond the standard 328 foot limit. The units work in pairs, with one base unit (VLS-1P-B) and one camera unit (VLS-1P-C) required. The units support PoE up to two thousand six hundred feet, and PoE Plus up to two thousand feet. If you need to extend your cable run further, you can use multiple base/camera pairs.
The units are simple to use and are self configuring, and are powered by PoE, so no additional power supplies are required when using a network with PoE. If you network does not supply PoE/PoE Plus, an optional power supply is available that connects to the base unit and supplies power for both the base and camera unit. The optional power supply can also supply PoE or PoE Plus power for IP cameras that power via Poe/PoE Plus. The Longspan Ethernet converters support Cat 5/5e, Cat 6/6e cable and UTP (unshielded twisted pair) wiring. So, for example, if you are upgrading your previous security camera system to an IP camera, you can use pre-existing one, two or four pair UTP wiring and avoid running new Ethernet cable between the camera position and your network switch. - Veracity LONGSPAN Ethernet Range Extender with PoE (Camera Side) The camera side LONGSPAN Ethernet Range Extender with PoE from Veracity provides high bandwidth over extended ranges up to 3500', enabling a connection to IP cameras and other remote network devices. This smart, point-to-point solution requires no mid-cable equipment and features automatic self-configuration. The LONGSPAN Converter also supports single-pair UTP cables, providing a fast upgrade solution for legacy analog systems.
LONGSPAN is designed to allow you to run IP cameras up to 2700' using 100Base-T speeds and up to 3500' using 10Base-T speeds. This converter supports 1- and 2-pair cables with extended range, allowing analog cameras in UTP installations to connect via IP with no need to replace cabling. LONGSPAN automatically adapts to the number of pairs available and delivers the same unrestricted 10 or 100 Mbps full-duplex network connection. It self-configures for optimum performance every time it is connected and eliminates the need for user setup, DIP switch settings, and system pairings.
This PoE-equipped extender allows all of the power for the link to be sourced from a single PoE switch or power supply for simple installation and reliable UPS-backed power delivery. LONGSPAN's power transmission technologycan deliver the full 25.5W required for PoE Plus equipment at up to 2000', or standard 15W PoE up to 2600'.
