Product description The Sound Devices XM-Caddy Pack - 2 SSDs with Caddies for PIX 220i/240i/250i/260i/270i & 970 recorders includes two 240GB SATA SSDs, and two PIX-CADDY 2 caddies, and mounting accessories. The SSDs are from Other World Computing, and are pre-formatted by Sound Devices. The included PIX-CADDY 2 units transport the SSDs, and provide Firewire 800 (400 compatible), USB 3.0 (USB 2, and 1.1 compatible), and eSATAp connectivity to a bare SSD.
Once you install an SSD into the caddy, you can easily insert and remove the SSDs from an available computer. The caddy allows you to connect the included SSDs to a computer, and the SSD shows up as an UDF volume for access to the files. - PIX-SSD6 240GB SSD for Pix 220i/240i/260i The Sound Devices PIX-SSD6 240GB SSD for Pix 220i/240i/260i is a 2.5" Serial-ATA 9.5mm SSD. This is an off the shelf Other World Computing SSD that Sound Devices pre-formats to the native file system of the Pix 220i/240i/260i, so the SSD is ready to go out of the box. It is equipped with a SandForce 2281 Processor and DuraClass technology and offers sustained reads up to 559 MB/s and writes up to 527 MB/s.
In addition to RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) technology, the Solid State Drive comes with ECC protection that protects the data on your hard drive and retains it for a long time on the hard drive. The Mercury EXTREME Solid State Drive features intelligent block management, while the wear leveling system evenly distributes the data over the hard drive. An intelligent read disturb management spreads active read/write, eliminating data corruption.
Advanced intelligent recycling ensures space management by re-writing the data over the SSD, and Durawrite extends the quality of the hard drive. It supports 240 GB useable capacity with a total flash memory of 256 GB, additionally 16 GB space is allocated for real time data redundancy and error correction, and is compatible with Notebooks and Desktops. - Pre-Formatted

PIX-CADDY 2 connects onto the end of a 2.5" SSD drive to equip the drive with USB, FireWire, and eSATAp connections, whereas natively an SSD only has a regular eSATA connection (without the "p"). - FireWire 800 and USB 3.0 connections for mounting 2.5" SSD to computers as UDF volumes when the Caddy is not attached to a PIX recorder
