Product description The Drums & Toms from the Vienna Symphonic Library is a sample-based virtual instrument featuring percussion instruments including snares, piccolos, and field drums, as well as bass drums, concert toms, and roto toms. Also included is the Taiko drum and tambourines.
Snare drums originate from the military and are found in most genres of popular music. The drum covers the treble register within the orchestra but has no definite pitch. It receives its name from the snare strings on the bottom of the shell. Piccolos are a slimmer snare drum with a higher register, while the field drum has larger shell. The bass drum covers the bass register within the orchestra percussion section and plays an essential role in all western styles of music. It is often played with a cymbal. For pop, jazz and rock, the bass drum is played with a kick pedal and is also known as a kick drum.
Concert toms are suspended and usually set up in batteries of four, six, or eight instruments. They typically are open ended and therefore have no resonances. Roto toms have no shell and are affixed to a metal hoops which can be adjusted to provide different pitches. Taiko drums are various barrel-shaped drums of Japanese origin. Tambourines are a framed drum augmented with small metal disks in slots around the frame and are typically played with the palm, fingers, or mallets. Note: The software requires a ViennaKey USB or similar protection device if one is not already on the system. Articulations - 01 Snare Drum - A
