Product description The Vienna MIR RoomPack 2 - Studios & Sound Stages from the Vienna Symphonic Library features the Teldex Recording Studio in Berlin, as well as three different recording studios from the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) Funkhaus in Vienna. The three ORF Funkhaus studios include the Grosser Sendesaal (Grand On-Air Studio), Studio Two in the Public Radio Broadcasting Building and Studio Three in the Public Radio Broadcasting Building. These world-famous recording studios and recording halls expand the flexibility of Vienna MIR PRO by adding four more spaces in which to generate your virtual orchestra's convolution reverb. The Teldex Studio in Berlin has been used as a recording and performance studio since the 1950s. It affords a truly unique sonic signature thanks to its 4900 sq foot sound stage surrounded with a strange amalgamation of material and surface elements. It boasts an uncanny absence of resonances and flutter echoes. The Vienna Symphonic Library generated around 6000 individual impulse responses here, which represent the studio in its entirety. Plus, the impulse responses were made from two different angles, using three typical main microphone positions. The next three recording studios are part of the ORF Funkhaus in Vienna. The Grosser Sendesaal is the largest hall in the Austrian Public Radio Broadcasting Building and it's highlighted by a reverb time of 1.5 seconds. The immense floor space allows for an ample sound stage that can support a full-size symphony orchestra and an organ against the back wall. RoomPack 2 represents this grand space by using four different microphone positions where two of them are on the stage and two are in the auditory section.Studio Two and Studio Three in the Austrian Public Radio Broadcasting Building are also represented in this RoomPack. Although similar in size, they're acoustically worlds apart. Studio Two was designed with absorbers on the ceiling for big band recordings and it features a reverb time of 0.5 seconds. Plus, it affords ultra-precise sound localization. Studio Three offers a reverb time of 0.8 seconds and was designed for a wide variety of music recording. Both studios were represented using three different microphone positions to record the whole room. Two mic positions regard the studio as the stage, while the third mic affords a listening perspective from a studio control room for more depth. All together, RoomPack 2 offers over 13,000 individual impulse responses from the three ORF Funkhaus recording studios, as well as 6000 individual impulse responses from the Teldex Studio in Berlin. In the ORF Funkhaus, the responses were captured using up to four dedicated Ambisonics multichannel microphone arrays. The impulses were directed from up to 50 positions into the studio in perfect steps of 60°. They were also directed to the floor and to the ceiling.Although multiple setups and rooms were used, RoomPack 2 captures a homogeneous sound for all the main microphone polarity patterns used. This is due to improved multichannel mixing technologies. And, since Ambisonics treats sounds arriving from every direction equally, RoomPack 2 features a relative volume between all main microphones in all four venues. This makes it even easier to switch venues while working on a MIR project. There's also more consistency in the dry signal level scaling. Plus, for enhanced flexibility, RoomPack 2 even features novel starting point-settings for most of the venues. - Vienna MIR PRO compatibility
