The flash itself is quite capable with a guide number of 184' at ISO 100 and 180mm and a zoom range of 18-180mm. Also, users will be able to bounce the light thanks to 90° of tilt and 180° of rotation. Additionally, wireless slave functionality allows remote triggering from a master flash unit.
For fast operation, the DF-783 offers a recycle time of 2.9 seconds and shooters can change setting using a clear color LCD screen. A multi flash mode enhances the feature set for stroboscopic work while PC sync and external power ports allow for more elaborate and reliable setups. It also runs on four easy-to-find AA batteries.
