Product description The B&H Binocular Buying Guide Read More ffbfduqvrfybczudrzzqsadxtbsbydsreexrv The Vixen Optics 10x42 Artes J DCF ED Binocular is designed to produce the exceptional image quality that one would expect from an optic made in Japan.Performance begins with the use of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass for the objective lens elements and BAK4 glass for the roof prisms. Next are anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics, and phase-correcting and highly-reflective prism coatings which work together to maximize light transmission, eliminate color fringing, and improve clarity and contrast across the entire wide field of view. All these features present the user with an immersive observational experience with bright and clear views with accurate color representation.Complementing the optical performance, Vixen utilizes an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration that reduces the optic's weight, while providing additional surface area versus closed bridges for a more secure grip without sacrificing overall strength and stability. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable magnesium alloy that further reduces weight, and the optical tubes are wrapped in a slip-resistant rubber armor. To withstand the rigors of year-round use, its optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging. For extended observation sessions, the ARTES-J can be tripod mounted using an optional Vixen Type-M adapter for hands-free use to reduce distracting hand-shake or vibrations, and eliminate arm fatigue. - Optical Performance
