Product description Designed to deliver outstanding views of the moon and planets, the Vixen Optics FL55ss 55mm f/5.5 Fluorite APO Refractor Telescope is engineered with an array of features that work together to provide performance in a small package.This apochromatic refractor design virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations, and is complemented by the use of extra low-dispersion fluorite glass and broadband fully multi-coatings that maximize light transmission across the entire spectrum and provide improved color correction, especially at the low end of the blue spectrum, and prevents halos with higher contrast. The fast focal ratio makes it ideal for imaging, and its large 44mm imaging circle will cover today's large camera sensors to enable you to capture full frame images without vignetting. With the addition of Vixen's option field flattener and focal reducer, the f/5.5 focal ratio drops to a stunning f/4.3 putting its imaging performance on par with an astrograph. The FL55ss is offered here without a mount or tripod, but comes with an included Vixen-style dovetail bar to make it compatible with the most common size of mount saddle plates. - Optical Tube Assembly
