Product description The B&H Binocular Buying Guide Read More Sporting a high magnification, large objectives, extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, and fully multi-coated optical surfaces, the Vixen Optics Foresta II ED 10x42 DCF Binocular delivers bright and sharp high-contrast images with true-to-life color and crisp clarity in all light conditions—from dawn through dusk.To improve overall image quality, Vixen utilizes phase-corrected coatings on the prisms and ED glass lenses. The glass and coatings ensure views remain bright and clear and improve color rendition and contrast while limiting distortion and internal interference. The roof prism optical path keeps the form factor compact so the binocular will be comfortable to carry and use all day on the trail, while an exceptional angle of view helps to reduce the appearance of distracting hand shake that is often associated with powerful optics. All of these features work together to present you with a comfortable and immersive observational experience during long days out in the field.Designed to withstand the rigors of the trail, the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature variations. The chassis is made from an aluminum alloy to make it lightweight and corrosion resistant without sacrificing strength and stability. To further cut weight while providing you with more area to grip, Vixen employs an open-bridge configuration with a dual hinge. An oversized, knurled center focusing wheel allows for sharp focusing even while wearing gloves. For long-duration glassing sessions, or to reduce fatigue and visible hand shake that are common with high magnifications, the Foresta II ED can be mounted on a tripod or other support system using an optional adapter. - Optical Performance
