Product description The MV50 Clean Set from Vox is an amplifier head and speaker cabinet bundle designed to provide sounds inspired by classic American amps in a small and portable package for guitarists gigging, practicing, and recording. It includes the Vox MV50 Clean 50W amplifier head and the Vox BC108 1x8" speaker cabinet.
The 50W amp head features a Class D power amp, headphone output, and an EQ switch to suit different cabinets. Its Nutube vacuum tube delivers analog tube tones in a compact unit. Connect the amp head to the BC108 speaker cabinet with the supplied speaker cable. The 8" speaker handles 25W RMS at 8 Ohms. The semi-open design is optimized to produce tight response in the bass range. - MV50 Clean 50W Amplifier Head with Nutube Preamp Technology Designed to offer classic tube sound in a miniaturized form factor, the MV50 Clean amplifier head from VOX measures 5.3 x 3.0 x 3.9”, providing 50W of power, and is capable of driving cabinets at four, eight, and 16 Ohms. The amplifier accomplishes this feat thanks in no small part to an all-analog preamp circuit utilizing Nutube technology, as well as analog components which can reproduce the character of traditional American tube amplifiers, delivering warm, natural-sounding clean tones and plenty of headroom. A class D power amp complements the preamp, giving the MV50 the ability to produce enough volume for any situation and respond to the nuances of your guitar, as well as the dynamics of your playing technique. In addition to delivering warm and sparkling clean tones, when driven to its hilt and played aggressively, the MV50 will respond with pleasing and subtle overdrive. The MV50 Clean provides one 1/4" guitar input, one 1/4" speaker output, and a 1/4" headphone/line output. Volume, bass, and treble controls are provided to tweak the amp's tone and output. A switch on the back of the amplifier allows you to attenuate the output power in three stages. With this switch, you can use full power or lower the output level by 10 or 20 dB. A VU meter is also included to display the amp's output level. To suit a wide variety of cabinets, an EQ switch on the rear of the amp head has been provided, giving you two tone-shaping options. Deep mode puts the emphasis on the low frequency range and is particularly useful with smaller cabinets; Flat mode, on the other hand, allows you to take full advantage of a larger speaker’s inherent tonal characteristics. The 1/4" headphone/line output utilizes a cabinet simulation circuit to offer you the full sound of an amplifier/head combo when routing signal to headphones, DIs, recording interfaces, mixers, PAs, and more.
- BC108 1x8 Speaker Cabinet for MV50 Amplifier Head Intended for use with the MV50 amplifier head, the VOX BC108 is a 1x8” speaker cabinet capable of handling 25W at 8 Ohms. At 8.6 lb, it’s rather portable, and features a semi-open back structure to facilitate a more focused sound, especially in the bass range of the frequency spectrum. Even though it is compact and portable, at 25W it can offer enough volume for practicing at home or gigging in small venues such as coffee shops.On the rear of the cab you’ll find two 1/4" speaker jacks, both of which can be used as an input. Daisy-chaining this cab to another BC108 is possible by making use of whichever 1/4" jack is not currently employed. In this case, you can run one 1/4" speaker cable from the MV50—or other compatible amp—to the cabinet, and run another cable from the BC108 to your secondary speaker. The output impedance will reduce to 4 Ohms when set up in such a manner.
