Product description Designed for electric bass players, the VOX VX50BA is a 50W combo amplifier. It sports a single channel with gain and volume controls, as well as a drive and compression circuit which can be combined for interesting tones. The amp offers a four-band EQ with bass, low-mid, high-mid, and treble knobs.
The VX50BA makes use of VOX's Nutube technology, which gives you the warm tone of tubes at the relatively lightweight of just over 9 lb. The 8" speaker is housed in a chassis that utilizes a proprietary bass reflex structure to preserve rich and hefty low end.

- Nutube Design
- Looking more like a chip than a conventional valve, the Nutube is a vacuum tube utilizing technology from vacuum fluorescent displays. As with conventional vacuum tubes, the Nutube is constructed with an anode, grid, and filament, and operates as a complete triode tube. Furthermore, it generates the response as well as the same rich harmonic characteristics of conventional vacuum tubes. Its miniature size reduces power consumption over conventional tubes, and its construction is said to offer up to 30,000 hours of continuous operating life.
- Bass Reflex Structure
- A proprietary bass reflex structure has been implemented and tuned for the bass guitar's inherent properties. The chassis uses ABS polymer for its weight, durability, and acoustical properties. In addition, wood is used for the baffle, achieving excellent resonance.
- 4-Band EQ
- The amp is equipped with bass, low-mid, high-mid, and treble controls. This provides the detailed sound-shaping control needed for bass.
- Compressor and Overdrive Switches
- The Comp switch engages the compressor circuit, giving you a sound with compression and sustain. You'll enjoy the consistent dynamics, and the tight and stable sound. The Drive switch applies overdrive, delivering a punchy sound that ranges from mild overdrive to full-on saturation. If both the Drive and Comp switch are engaged, the overdrive sound is mixed with the low range of the compressed clean sound, giving you a timbre that is distorted yet preserves the bass.
