Product description Designed for keyboard players in various live scenarios, the VOX VX50KG is a 50W combo amplifier with three-channel operation. Each channel has its own volume knob, and all share the same EQ section, with controls for bass, midrange, and treble. Channel 3 sports a phase switch to fight feedback or low-end interference between microphones and keyboards. Channel 3 is also switchable between mic and line operation.
The VX50KG makes use of VOX's Nutube technology, which gives you the warm tone of tubes at the relatively light weight of just over 9 lb. The 8" speaker is a coaxial design, giving you a tweeter for an extended high-frequency response. Utilizing a proprietary bass-reflex structure, the combo amp achieves a rich and hefty low end.
Three 1/4" inputs are provided, and you'll also find a 3.5mm auxiliary input for media players such as phones, tablets, and more. A 1/4" line output lets you route sound directly to PA systems or recording devices. For silent practice, plug your headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, an AC adapter is included. - Lightweight ABS Design
- In spite of its high 50W output power, the 9 lb body and compact design ensure ease in transportation. The 1-piece ABS chassis ensures high durability and great sound quality.
- Nutube Design
- Looking more like a chip than a conventional valve, the Nutube is a vacuum tube utilizing technology from vacuum fluorescent displays. As with conventional vacuum tubes, the Nutube is constructed with an anode, grid, and filament, and operates as a complete triode tube. Furthermore, it generates the response as well as the same rich harmonic characteristics of conventional vacuum tubes. Its miniature size reduces power consumption over conventional tubes, and its construction is said to offer up to 30,000 hours of continuous operating life.
- 8" Coaxial Speaker
- The two-way coaxial speaker features a powerful 8" speaker and a tweeter. From a rich low range to clear highs, the output is transparent and sonorous, providing excellent imaging to better suit the nuances of acoustic guitar and voice.
- Bass-Reflex Structure
- A proprietary bass-reflex structure has been implemented and tuned for the keyboard's inherent properties. The chassis uses ABS polymer for its weight, durability, and acoustical properties. In addition, wood is used for the baffle, achieving excellent resonance.
- Equalizer
- A 3-band EQ with bass, midrange, and treble controls is common to all three channels. It provides both basic and flexible controls.
- Multitude of I/O Jacks
- This unit's 3-channel design meets the needs of many scenarios: 3 keyboards, 2 keyboards and a mic, or a stereo keyboard output and a microphone. It can also act as a simple PA system. In addition to a master volume, independent volume controls are provided for each channel. Furthermore, each channel also has a CLIP indicator to prevent distortion caused by excessive volume. Channel 3 is equipped with a PHASE switch. When a mic is connected to channel 3, this switch can be used to correct phase interference with instruments that are connected to channel 1 and channel 2, or to reduce low-frequency acoustic feedback. A full complement of input/output jacks is also provided, including an auxiliary input jack for connecting your audio player or rhythm machine to enjoy jam sessions, a line output jack that can be used for connection to a PA system, and a headphone jack that's ideal for practicing at home.
