• Vu Filters 55mm Sion UV Filter The 55mm Sion UV Filter from Vu Filters is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface is multi-coated. These coatings offer greater protection to the filter substrate, further enhance its ability to limit UV, and help to ensure color fidelity. The Flat Wave Overcoat associated with this Sion UV filter provides an additional layer over the multi-coatings, resulting in an improved beading effect to repel water for greater cleaning efficiency.
  
  Sion UV filters are constructed from Schott glass with a black rim. Set within an aluminum-alloy filter ring that is durable while remaining lightweight, the glass provides increased clarity as well as color fidelity while the black rim further ensures that reflections do not occur along the filter's edge. The filter ring is also weather-sealed, which contributes to this Sion UV filter's ability provide general protection for a lens at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

• Vu Filters 55mm Sion Slim Circular Polarizer Filter The 55mm Sion Slim Circular Polarizer Filter from Vu Filters helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.
  
  A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.
  
  Sion Slim circular polarizer filters are multi-coated, have approximately a greater than 85% average light transmission, and are constructed from Schott glass with a black rim. • Vu Filters 55mm Sion Variable Neutral Density Filter The 55mm Sion Variable Neutral Density Filter from Vu Filters is a solid variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 1 to 5 stops. The 0.3 to 1.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values.
  
  This Sion variable neutral density filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating.
