Product description Use a vehicle or boat battery to power electronics, tools, and appliances that you would normally plug into a wall socket with the Pure Line 400W Power Inverter by Wagan Tech. This DC-to-AC power inverter delivers pure sine wave AC power, the same kind of power you get from an AC wall socket. Pure sine wave AC means that your sensitive electronics, such as audio/video systems, computers, and communications equipment, will operate cooler, quieter, and more efficiently than they would using modified sine wave power. Featuring two three-prong grounded AC outlets and one USB power port, the inverter runs on a 12-volt battery (technically 11-15 VDC) and continuously delivers 400W AC power at 110-120V, 60 Hz. The surge capability of 800W accommodates devices and appliances that draw higher wattage upon start-up or at certain points in their operation. A neutral to ground bond is provided for safety and compliance with US electric standards. The power cable has direct terminal clips for attaching to battery terminals, providing a more secure and higher-capacity connection than alligator clips or a cigarette lighter socket plug. The inverter warns you when your car's battery has been drawn down to 10.5V and will automatically shut off when the battery's remaining power reaches 10V. It also offers overload, overheat, short-circuit, and reverse polarity protection. - Converts 11-15 VDC to 110-120 VAC to run and charge household electronics in vehicle or boat
