Product description Designed in collaboration with Ryan Adams, the Walrus Audio DEFCON4 is a preamp and EQ in a stompbox form factor. It specifically intends to suit the needs of guitarists who switch between single-coil and humbucking instruments in the middle of a set. If you find yourself having to tweak the amplifier to better accommodate either a single-coil or a humbucking pickup, the DEFCON4 aims to sidestep this problem altogether. At the top of the pedal you have three knobs for boosting or cutting the lows, mids, and highs. Effectively, this is a three-band tone stack. Internal trim pots can change the bandwidth and center-frequency position of the midrange filter for you to home in on the right tone with more precision. Three toggles below each knob let you bypass frequency ranges individually. The Launch switch gives you a 10 dB MOSFET boost, which can be quite helpful in switching between high- and low-output instruments. This pedal requires a separately available power supply to run. Daisy-chaining power supplies are not recommended with the DEFCON4.
