As the name "Switch" hints, Westcott has introduced a line of softboxes designed for setup and rapid swapping out of different brands of strobes and speedlights in seconds. The 36" Rapid Box Switch Octa-M Softbox is a good choice for use in the studio or on location for head and shoulders portraits, fashion, advertising, or corporate work. The large surface area of the softbox gives its output a wraparound quality especially when used close up. Another benefit is the reflection of natural-looking catchlights in your subject's eyes. As indicated in the name, the softbox has a basic ring to hold it together, but instead of full speed rings, one of 13 "inserts" are available and required for a speedlight or specific brand of strobe. The quick release thumb-lock on the Rapid Box Switch ensures the security of your light. Besides the benefit of speed, the softbox is structurally sound with durable metal framework, heat-resistant fabric, and a reflective silver interior that maximizes your light source's output. The Rapid Box Switch Octa's diffusion material has also been thoroughly tested and found to be neutral, ensuring a true rendition of color. A carry case is included for storage and transport.
