Product description The HATT-AES Tabletop Active Headphone Amplifier from Whirlwind converts a digital AES3 stream into a high-fidelity, low-distortion stereo headphone signal optimized for 32 Ohms headphones. Sample rates from 32 kHz to 192 KHz are recognized by the HATT-AES D/A converters. The amplifier features an analog 3.5mm TRS stereo input jack, analog signal present LEDs, and a buffered AES loop-thru output. The headphone output can also be used as an unbalanced stereo line driver. The HATT-AES is powered by an included model #PS6 powert supply. Both 1/4” TRS and 3.5mm TRS headphone jacks are provided and the volume control adjusts the listening level. It is housed in a durable ABS box for placement anywhere a high-quality headphone driver is required. Front Panel - The single volume control adjusts the level delivered to both left and right earpieces. The PWR LED indicates operational status, the LOCK LED shows connection with a valid AES3 stream (32 kHz to 192 KHz sample rates), and the CHA and CHB LEDs display analog audio presence at the output of the D/A converters.
Note: Although 1/4" TRS and 3.5mm TRS headphone jacks are included for convenience, only one jack should be used at a time. Rear Panel - A 3.5mm stereo TRS jack is provided for injection of unbalanced stereo signals. The AES3 input is a female XLR. Both AES3 digital and 3.5mm analog inputs can be used together if required. The AES thru XLR male jack provides a buffered, latency free, output of the input signal for daisy-chaining several units together with the same AES3 stream. The 2.1mm power input jack is for connection to the model #PS6 6 VDC power supply.
