Product description Transfer photos, videos, and other large files directly to your Windows or Mac computer, or between cards at speeds up to 800 MB/s using the 4-Slot Pro USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Card Reader from Xcellon. Built using heat-dissipating aluminum, this card reader is equipped with four independent card slots: two that support UHS-II, UHS-I, and non-UHS SD, SDHC, and SDXC media, and two others that support CFast 2.0, 1.1, and 1.0 media. All in all, this reader takes advantage of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 bus and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 ports, providing overall transfer speeds of up to 800 MB/s, with the CFast 2.0 slots supporting speeds up to 550 MB/s and the UHS-II SD slots supporting speeds up to 270 MB/s. All four card slots can be used simultaneously with the data transfer speeds split between them.
Thanks to plug-and-play connectivity and bus power, Xcellon's card reader can be used right out of the box. However, to use all four ports via bus power, your system's USB port must output 3A of power. If it does not, then only two ports will be available. If you do not have 3A of USB power available, a 12V / 2A power adapter is included. To provide flexibility in connecting to your host system, USB Type Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to Type-A cables are included. Protection is provided by a limited one-year warranty. - If you're taking pictures or shooting video, the Xcellon 4-Slot Pro Card Reader offers two CFast 2.0 and two UHS-II SDXC card slots. Having more card slots allows you to effectively transfer work from simultaneous multiple cards so you can quickly get back to shooting.
- Fast Transfer Speeds
- The Xcelleon CR-CFASD accepts CFast 2.0 and SDXC UHS-II cards, and takes advantage of its 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 bandwidth, which provides transfer speeds of up to 800 MB/s for quick file transfers and less downtime. The 800 MB/s is intelligently split between the types of cards you connect and the slots you're using. So, while each CFast slot supports speeds up to 550 MB/s, using both at the same time would transfer files at 400 MB/s. In addition, UHS-I and non-UHS SD cards, as well as CFast 1.1 and 1.0 are supported.
- Simultaneous Read/Write
- All four slots can simultaneously transfer data to your laptop or desktop, or from one card to another. So, when you're done working for the day, you can download from four cards at once, or back up data between cards.
- Bus or AC Powered
- If you're working while on the go, this reader is bus powered using your host system's USB or Thunderbolt 3 port. For all four card slots to function using bus power, the USB port must provide 3A. The reader will still function using ports that provide less than 3A, but only two slots will be operational at a time - both CFast, both SD, or one of each, depending which two are used first. For situations where USB power isn't enough, a space-saving 12V / 2A power adapter is included.
- Aluminum Housing
- The reader's aluminum housing not only looks clean and professional, but it also dissipates heat, which helps to keep operations running cool. So, even though transferring large files will cause the unit to heat up, the metal chassis allows that heat to disperse. To help with efficient airflow, please ensure there are no surrounding obstructions.
