Product description Built for data-intensive operations that require an additional PCIe card, such as video and photo editing, and audio production, the Little Brother Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Expansion Chassis from Xcellon is an external enclosure that allows users to utilize PCIe cards with desktop systems whose PCIe slots are already occupied, as well as systems that do not have any PCIe slots, such as laptops and the 2017 iMac Pro. This enclosure is equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which provide bidirectional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s and 15W of power delivery, a dedicated DisplayPort 1.2 port, and one PCIe 3.0 x16/x4 slot, which provides 25W of power and supports half-length, full-height, and double-width PCIe cards.
While one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports is used to interface with your Windows or Mac system, the second can be used to daisy-chain up to five additional devices to the enclosure, including additional storage, displays, and more. When connecting additional displays, the Thunderbolt 3 port can support one 5K display or one 4K display at 60 Hz, while the DisplayPort supports one 4K display at 60 Hz. Dual 4K displays are also supported at 60 Hz by using the DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3 port, or by using one Thunderbolt 3 port with a dual display adapter.
Xcellon's Little Brother Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Expansion Chassis is plug-and-play compatible with Windows 7 and later and macOS 10.12 and later. Included is a 1.6' Thunderbolt 3 cable, a power adapter, and four rubber feet for horizontal orientation usage. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year warranty. - The PCIe expansion slot accepts half-length, full-height, and double-width PCIe 3.0 cards to expand your system and speed up your workflow. If your computer doesn't have enough muscle for data-intensive operations like video and photo editing, graphics, and audio production, the Little Brother is a well-suited solution. It allows you to add an expansion card without opening your computer. You can even add extra ports to your system or an SSD for extra storage.
- Thunderbolt 3
- Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.

- A second Thunderbolt 3 port supports Thunderbolt 3, 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.1), and DisplayPort for compatibility with a wide and diverse selection of peripherals and displays. It can even be used to daisy-chain up to five additional Thunderbolt devices so you can expand and adapt your system to your specific needs.
- DisplayPort
- You can connect a second monitor to the Little Brother with the dedicated DisplayPort. If you're using a single 4K display, connecting it to the DisplayPort frees up the second Thunderbolt port to connect other devices.
- Add Monitors
- You'll love how your work looks because the second Thunderbolt 3 port supports a single monitor up to 5K @ 60 Hz. The dedicated DisplayPort supports monitors up to 4K @ 60 Hz. If you have two monitors, you can connect them both at up to 4K @ 60 Hz.
- Plug-and-Play
- The Little Brother doesn't need special software or drivers. Just plug it into a Thunderbolt 3 port on your Windows or Mac system to expand and enhance your system, and harness the versatility of PCIe 3.0 technology and fast Thunderbolt 3 data transfer speeds.
