Product description Addictive Keys: Mark One from XLN Audio is a virtual instrument based on a Fender Rhodes Mk. 1 electric piano, played through a vintage tube combo amp and captured using rare vintage microphones. The tone can go from smooth to a searing, crunchy sound that cuts through the densest mix. While the instrument's line output can be recorded direct, it is often played through an amplifier to add character. For this sampling, a MusicMan 112 RD Fifty 1x12" combo amp was utilized, set up in a large recording room. Vintage microphones were positioned to capture both close and far perspectives. Three microphones were positioned close to the speaker: a dynamic, a tube condenser and a ribbon. One floor and one room microphone were used for the option of adding depth and ambience. In addition to the microphone recordings, two line signals were also recorded – one direct through a high-voltage DI box, and another through the classic Roland Dimension D analog stereo chorus. An ExploreMap page within the interface contains a selection of presets that can be easily previewed and selected with a single click, making it easy to explore the various sounds possibilities. Many ExploreMaps also contain convenient macro controllers for fast and easy editing. Additionally, deeper editing is provided with effects and individual processing available for each microphone channel. The My Cloud feature of Addictive Keys includes cloud storage of all presets and memos as long as the music computer is connected to the Internet. One benefit is a constant backup of presets and settings in the event of a computer crash, or the acquisition of a new computer. Another benefit is the ability to access user files across multiple computers. - Sample Recording Microphones
