Product description The black walnut Arius YDP-163B from Yamaha is an 88-key digital piano featuring a Graded Hammer-3 action keyboard with synthetic ivory keytops, designed to emulate the feel of an acoustic piano and includes a stand and bench. It has damper, sostenuto, and soft foot pedals with continuous control, and provides playback from two oval speakers and built-in dual 20-watt amplifiers, or two 1/4" headphone jacks with Stereophonic Optimizer technology.
The piano allows for selecting between a soft, medium, hard, or fixed touch response to correspond to the performer's individual playing style. The PureCF sound engine powers ten built-in voices that are based on samples taken from the company's CFIIIS concert grand piano. And 192-note polyphony allows many of the most complex piano compositions to be played without any dropped notes, and with sustained notes ringing through faithfully.
Two voices can be layered for creating new sounds. A built-in two-track MIDI recorder allows for capturing a performance and playing it back. Using the feature, right- and left-hand performances can be recorded separately at any tempo, and then either hand can be played back by the piano for additional practice. - Graded Hammer (GH3) weighted keyboard mimics the touch of an acoustic piano, from the heavy feel in the lower register to a lighter touch in the upper octaves
- White keys feature synthetic ivory keytops with good moisture-absorption properties, meaning that fingers won't slip even when playing for extended periods of time
- Half-damper pedal control creates more detailed nuance and subtlety when playing, similar to pedaling on a grand piano, allowing for continuously increasing lengths of sustained notes, from slight to full
- Stereo Sustain samples provide mellow reverberations when the player depresses the damper pedal
- Damper Resonance provides broad and deep resonance when the pedal is used
- Fifty preset songs built in and also presented as a music book
- Recording function allows players to record performances with a single touch (compatible software is required for playback of the recorded data on a computer)
- Record the right and left hands separately for hands-separate practicing at any tempo—practice one hand, while the piano plays the other
- Combine two voices together, such as piano and strings
- Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) feature allows for playing at a lower volume in a quiet home environment without treble and bass loss
- Volume dial automatically makes fine adjustments to the overall sound of the speaker system (EQ) when played at a low volume
- Acoustic Optimizer physically adjusts the sound flow, controlling resonances and enriching the overall sound
- Transpose keyboard up or down half an octave
- Dual headphone outputs with Stereophonic Optimizer that allows the sound of the piano to be perceived as coming from the body of the instrument rather than from the headphones
- When connected to external speakers, the built-in speakers can be muted
- Digital Piano Controller app has an interface optimized for iOS touch screens, adding a new functionality to the instrument
- A standard USB cable can be used to connect the instrument to a computer or mobile device for creativity, entertainment or education
