Product description Enjoy immersive multi-channel sound with the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A880 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver. It delivers up to 100W of power per channel at 8 Ohms and features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility for object-based audio support. Built-in Bluetooth and AirPlay support allows the receiver to wirelessly stream music from compatible sources, such as smartphones and tablets, while Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer helps to deliver optimized sound quality.
Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allows the AVENTAGE RX-A880 to access music from your connected computer or NAS. Amazon Alexa compatibility enables you to control certain functions of the receiver with just your voice through your Alexa-enabled devices. With seven HDMI inputs and two outputs, this receiver can act as a video switcher for your HD source components. It will pass through HDR UHD 4K signals and will upscale non-UHD signals to near-4K quality for enhanced viewing of lower-resolution sources when paired with a UHD display. The receiver also has a USB port for accessing media stored on USB flash drives. YPAO-RSC multipoint sound optimization will calibrate the receiver to your speakers and room setup for a tailored listening experience. Note: Access to certain Internet-based content may require a subscription to a service. - Total Purity Concept
- The Total Purity Concept is designed to encompass high-drive amp technology, high-purity preamplification, anti-vibration technology, and independent, pure power supplies. The receiver has fully discrete power amplifiers that help minimize distortion and adopts pure independent power supplies, allowing dedicated power supplies for the analog and digital circuitry to prevent digital noise from affecting analog circuitry. The anti-vibration heat sinks are designed to suppress vibration from transistors and sound pressure.
- Anti-Resonance Technology
- The Anti-Resonance Technology Wedge is a fifth foot in the center of the receiver. It is engineered to dampen vibrations from the power transformer, power transistors, and heat sinks, as well as vibrations that might be caused by the sound from the speakers.
- Foundational Design
- The feet of the receiver feature a high-density structure that utilizes both straight and curved ribs to enhance strength and damping performance. This is designed to enhance installation stability and disperse chassis resonance, effectively eliminating external vibration. This helps to enhance low-range response, reduce resonance peaks in the mid- and high-range, and provide dynamic sound and accurate reproduction.
- Aluminum Front Panel
- The AVENTAGE RX-A880 features an aluminum front panel to help shield sensitive circuitry from external noise and electronic radiation generated by dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, video monitors, and the like. This helps ensure optimum sonic performance in a variety of installation environments.
- HDR & UHD Support Over HDMI
- This receiver can pass-through UHD video at 60 frames per second, as well as the HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG HDR formats for enhanced contrast and colors.
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay Compatibility
- Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to connect the receiver to your wireless router, simplifying system connections for music streaming or enjoying networked audio from your computer or NAS. Bluetooth connectivity is also onboard, allowing you to stream audio from your compatible device into the receiver, or out from the receiver to another Bluetooth device, such as a pair of headphones.

- These object-based sound technologies are designed to create realistic surround sound, positioning and moving individual sounds to nearly any virtual point in your room, including overhead.
- YPAO-RSC (Reflected Sound Control) with Multipoint Measurement
- YPAO-RSC analyzes the room acoustics with the included microphone to tune your system for optimal sound in your room. It employs RSC to correct early reflections for enhanced surround sound. Additionally, DSP Effect Normalization adjusts the room acoustics according to the reflected sounds of each CINEMA DSP program.
- Control via the MusicCast App
- The free MusicCast app puts control of the receiver into the palm of your hand. Access your sources and streaming services, adjust volume and sound settings, and link with other MusicCast devices for simultaneous playback throughout your home.
- Voice Control with Amazon Alexa and MusicCast
- With Alexa voice control integration, all you have to do is ask. Use any Alexa-enabled device, such as your Echo or Echo Dot, to control either the receiver by itself or multiple MusicCast devices throughout your home.
- Built-In Streaming Services
- Explore a world of music with built-in streaming services. Syncing your playlists and likes from your smart device to the receiver and discovering new music becomes even easier with the receiver.
- Zone 2 Second-Room Sound
- This feature, also known as Intelligent Amp Assign, allows you to enjoy stereo sound in a second room. When Zone 2 is turned on, the two surround back channels in a 7.1-channel system will be redirected to the two speakers in Zone 2, while still providing 5.1 channels of power to the main zone. This mitigates the need to switch speaker cables.
