Product description The GS2210 Series 8-Port Gigabit PoE Managed Switch from ZyXEL is a fully featured Layer 2 Gigabit access switch with 8 x 100/1000 Mbps PoE ports and 2 x Gigabit combo (SFP/RJ45) ports ideal for voice, video, and data networking. Once configured, it'll provide a 20 Gbps switching capacity, a 15Mpps forwarding rate, a 1.5 Mb packet buffer, and a 16K MAC address table. Furthermore, this model complies with the IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE Plus standards and provides a 180W PoE power budget. Combined with agile traffic control, network isolation, and high level network and access security, it'll be able to handle your network traffic safely and efficiently. - Agile Traffic Control
- With support for L2 multicast and IGMP snooping, the GS2210 Series can handle large IPTV deployments efficiently by directing multicast traffic to subscribers only. The Multicast VLAN Registration (MVR) function ensures network security by allowing a single multicast VLAN to be shared in the network while subscribers remain in separate VLANS. For voice, it uses OUI to detect compliant IP phones and assigns the traffic to a dedicated voice VLAN with appropriate QoS prioritization.
- Intelligent and High-Powered Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- This series of L2 PoE switches support IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE Plus standards, which provide up to 30 watts of power per port for advanced powered devices such as 802.11ac wireless APs and video IP phones. By enabling "Consumption Mode", the switch will automatically detect the power consumption of each device and supply only the amount required thereby minimizing unused power.
- High Level Network and Access Security
- The ZyXEL GS2210 Series is equipped with an extensive array of access security, traffic security, and network storm protection features that offer enhanced control and isolation for improved voice, video, and data. It includes IP source guard, DHCP snooping, and ARP inspection that can detect and block intentional network attacks. Furthermore, CPU protection prevents malicious traffic from trying to shut down the switch.
