Product description Create a personal cloud using the NAS540 4-Bay Personal Cloud Storage Server from ZyXEL that will allow you to work with documents and multimedia files from wherever an Internet connection is available. The NAS540 may also be accessed using iOS or Android smartphone apps, allowing your mobile devices to be synced with cloud platforms such as Google Drive, Memopal, ownCloud or ZyXEL's zCloud 2.0. The NAS540 is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
The NAS540 is has 4 x SATA II (3 Gb/s) drive bays that can support both 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives. Each drive bay features hot-swap support. The NAS540 is powered using a 1.2 GHz FreeScale FS1024 Dual-Core processor with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and features read speeds of up to 130 MB/s and write speeds of up to 77 MB/s. Its dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with link aggregation help to deliver increased network transfer speeds, while 3 x USB 3.0 ports provide an interface for external storage. There is also an SDXC card slot that supports SD cards with capacities up to 128GB.
For those who are concerned about data redundancy, performance, or a combination of both, the NAS540 offers support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 5+Hot Spare, and JBOD. It also features a built-in media server that can use apps like Bubble UPnP, Avia, Samsung TV Media, or ZyXEL zCloud 2.1 to play videos, music, and photos on your television with streaming devices such as AppleTV or Google Chromecast.
