Product description With support for the 802.11ac Wi-Fi protocol, the BR-6478AC V2 Dual-Band Wireless-AC1200 Gigabit Router from Edimax is capable of achieving wireless data transfer rates of up to 1200 Mbps. In addition to support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi, users can also take advantage of dual-band connectivity allowing more bandwidth intensive tasks such as streaming multimedia content, transferring large files, and more to be allocated to the less congested 5 GHz frequency. For devices requiring an Ethernet connection this Edimax router comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports as well as a single USB 2.0 port to attach USB compatible storage devices to the network.
Configuration and management of this Edimax router has been greatly simplified thanks to Smart iQ Setup and iQoS Bandwidth Management. You can set up the router without the need for a CD as Smart iQ Setup is completely web-based and is also accessible through a smartphone, iPad, tablet, or computer. Once configured, iQoS Bandwidth Management makes it easy to allocate bandwidth throughout the network to ensure tasks like streaming video have the necessary bandwidth to operate smoothly. The network administrator can even set up guest networks, restrict access to specific portions of the network, prevent access to websites, and more. - Enhanced Wireless Networking

The router is also backward compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n to ensure compatibility with legacy Wi-Fi devices.
