Product description The EOV from Morley is a volume pedal which relies on an electro-optical design, thus eliminating potentiometers which can sometimes introduce unwanted noise into your signal. It includes a 1/4" input jack and a 1/4" output jack for your instrument, and provides a continuous audio taper for smooth control for volume swells. Featuring LED power status indication, the pedal runs on a single 9V battery, though it can also accept Morley’s 9 VDC AC adapter, available separately. The EOV is intended for use with guitar, bass, keyboards, or any instrument that plugs into an amplifier. - Electro-Optical Mechanism Explained
- An LED (Light Emitting Diode) shines on an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor). A shutter then alters light between the two components controlling the function, and this is how the change in volume occurs. This Electro-Optical design ensures smooth pedal control without unwanted noise from potentiometers, which conventional volume pedals often use.
