Product description The EoVDSL Drop-and-Repeat/Point-to-Multipoint over Copper Cable Transmission System from COMNET includes one 10/100TX 8-port managed switch, one 2-channel EoVDSL uplink modem, and a mounting chassis. The system can be used to aggregate Ethernet-enabled equipment at remote field locations back to a central or head-end location over existing copper infrastructure. The ComNet CWFE8MS/DIN Managed Ethernet Switch provides transmission of 10/100Base-T Ethernet data via conventional Cat 5e copper cable. It comes equipped with eight electrical ports for easily implementing point-to-point, linear add-drop, drop-and-repeat, and more. The electrical ports support the 10/100 Mb/s (10/100Base-TX) Ethernet IEEE 802.3 protocol, and auto-negotiating and auto-MDI/MDIX features are provided for simplicity and ease of installation. EoVDSL modems provide a 100 Mb/s Ethernet electrical input and output, and they can be used with virtually all other Ethernet-compatible equipment, regardless of manufacturer, including media converters, managed or unmanaged switches, terminal servers, and wireless transmission equipment. This compatibility provides the user with the ability to configure a network using a combination of fiber optic, copper-based, and wireless communications equipment. - VDSL2 technology for fastest data rate and longer transmission distance
- Supports more than one EoVDSL channel by adding additional 2-channel EoVDSL uplink modems
- Uses telephone-grade twisted copper pair, legacy serial cabling, or standard 75 Ohms coaxial cable circuits to create a drop-and-repeat/point-to-multipoint Ethernet-based network
- Automatically selects fastest usable data rate, depending upon the copper circuit transmission distance and cable quality
- Designed for installation in harsh out-of-plant/unconditioned industrial or roadside operating environments
- Fully compliant with the environmental requirements of NEMA TS-2 for traffic signal control equipment
- Natural convection cooling; no fans or air filters
- 120/240 VAC power supply included
- Can be powered via 12 to 27 VDC external power supply (not included)
